James St. Markets art...

As part of the James St. Up Late night (which was at the end of May) the eponymous James St. Markets lent their windows to Griffith art students with very cool results!

I especially like the banana ball gown - it reminds me of that fab album by the Velvet Underground with the Andy Warhol banana on it! SUCH a great record and Nico (the girl) is so styleee... ahem anyways!

So yeah the artists are all Griffith students (see image below!) - and like all the Griffith design/art students  and graduates I know are extremely talented people! Good work James St. for showcasing some local talent :))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Sorry about the quality/angles of the pics btw, I would've like to take some more wideangle shots but unfortunately I was contending with the nearly always full James St. Markets carpark! Which grinds my gears just a little more than a regular carpark as it's almost exclusively filled with wank-mobiles.

You know, BMW 4 wheel drive, BMW 4 wheel drive, Porche, BMW 4 wheel drive.... Gah.

Windows to the soul...

Currently trying to remind myself of what I want to do... in life... aside from becoming  Anna Dello Russo of course... while waiting for QTAC and RMIT to get back to me I stumbled across this place which is def going to slot itself nicely into my morning routine of  fall out of bed-make-make-a-coffee-trawl-blogs-while-brain-wakes-up. It's basically just a visual merchandising blog. People who take photos of great window merchandising. Sounds crazy but there are a few of us out there who are slightly obsessed with good window dressing, about a third of my time in London was spent taking photos of Selfidges window.
I have a Facebook album dedicated thusly Window dressage and shops in general are a HUGE part of London that I miss and something that hasn't really been translated to Australian.
Yet.
You just wait windows... I'm on my way!!
... maybe the new Zara store in Sydders will break the seal?

Too Late!

And speaking of Bogan desires - Supre, stealer of ideas from the maybe-not-so-rich to sell to the poor - namely pov teenage Australian girls - at a not much lower cost, has gone apeshit for leopard print.

This kind of disturbs me, because, even though I have many many items in my wardrobe from Supre and sincerely enjoy getting cheap versions of jazzy numbers I've seen in Vogue, we all know that once Su -to the- pre has gone into overkill of a style its DEAD. Its a trap people! Don't pick it up! I know its only $10 but you're going to be that fashion plate girl with no personality, just a couple of bucks in her pocket and a 6 month old Grazia under your arm!! NOOOOOO!!
Which brings us back to the 'me being disturbed bit' - I own a lot of leopard print.
Shoes, belts, bags, tops. I own sequined leopard print for gosh sakes! I'm going to a fancy dress party with an animal theme as a leopard! Why are you doing this to me Supre? I've spent years wearing your clothes with panache telling my friends 'only $20 from Supre dollface'. And now I have to think of a different animal to go as for this party! Well frankly I can't! Everywhere I look is leopard! CANNOT UNSEE!!
